Statement of Faith
“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.” Hebrews 10:23-25 ESV
Sinking Deep is a Christ-centered Christian nonprofit devoted to biblical meditation, fellowship, prayer and the faithful teaching of Scripture. Our desire is to help believers grow in freedom, depth, and confidence in Christ while forming meaningful, Christ-centered connections with one another, anchored in the truth of God’s word.
Our Beliefs
Scripture
We believe the Holy Bible is the inspired, inherent, and sufficient Word of God, faithfully revealing Jesus Christ and God’s plan of salvation. Scripture is our final authority for lol faith and life and is meant to be studied, trusted and lived out to the best of our abilities. (2 Tim. 3:16-17; Luke 24:27)

God
We believe in the one true God- Father, Son and Holy Spirit who is eternal, holy, loving and worthy of all worship and praise. (Deut. 6;4; Matt. 28:19)
Jesus Christ
We believe Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, the promised Messiah, who lived a sinless life, died as our substitute and for the sins of the world. He rose from the dead, ascended into heaven, is seated at the right hand of God mediating for us, and will return in glory. (John 1:1-14; 1 Cor. 15: 3-4; Heb. 1:1-3)
Salvation
We believe salvation is the gracious gift of God, received through faith in Jesus Christ alone. No work, ritual, or religious practice can earn or add to what Christ has already accomplished for us.(Eph. 2:8-9; Gal. 2:16)
The New Covenant
We believe Jesus fulfilled the Law and established the New Covenant through His once-for-all sacrifice. Believers are invited to live in the freedom of this new life, led by the Holy Spirit rather than bound to the Mosaic Law as a covenant of righteousness. (Heb. 8:6-13; Gal 3:24-25)
The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit dwells within every believer, helping us understand Scripture, grow in holiness, and keep our hearts focused on Christ. (John 16:13-14; Rom. 8:9-11)
The Church
We believe the Church is the unified body of Christ, made up of believers from every background and walk of life, equally loved, and equally called to grow in Him for his good purposes. (Eph. 2:14-16; Gal. 3:28)
Biblical Meditation
We believe biblical meditation is a prayerful, powerful, Scripture-centered practice that leads to a deeper love for Christ and a joyful obedience. Our fellowship and time together are rooted in God’s Word and shaped by grace, humility and reverence. (Ps.1:1-3; Col. 2:18-19)
Out of love for the gospel and for those we serve, we do not affirm:
-
Any teaching that adds works, law-keeping, rituals, or cultural identity to faith in Chris
-
The Mosaic Law as binding for justification of spiritual standing
-
Spiritual hierarchies based on ethnicity, tradition, or religious practice
-
Mysticism, secret knowledge, or extra-biblical revelation
-
Anything that diminishes the sufficiency of Christ’s finished work
-
Jesus Christ alone is our hope, our righteousness, and our peace.(Gal. 1:6-9; Col. 2:16-17; Heb. 10:14)

Why This Matters
We believe clarity protects unity and freedom in Christ. The gospel is not improved by adding rules or rituals–it is powerful because Christ has finished the work.
